Obituary

,KELLER, Helen Frances
January 11, 1930 to January 11, 2022

Helen Frances Keller (née McIsaac) of Marchmont, died peacefully on her 92nd birthday after a brief stay at Mariposa House Hospice.

Helen was the cherished wife of 46 years to the late William (Bill) Brown Keller (2018).  She is also predeceased by her beloved parents Helen and Donald McIsaac, and by her siblings Albert, Mary, Donald, Gerald and Irene.

Helen was an avid reader and lifelong member of the Orillia Public Library, an expert knitter who donated scarves to charity, a pet lover, and in her professional life, a skilled office manager.  Completing word puzzles, sipping on a glass of white wine, and catching up with family on the phone brought joy to Helen’s life.

Together with Bill, Helen enjoyed travel to their favourite sun destinations in Barbados and Mexico and regular jaunts to Canton, Dunkirk and Freedonia.  The adored, caring and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and their families, Helen acknowledged every birthday with a card, a note and often a photograph of the good old days. Her wonderful sense of humour and story-telling delighted us all.

A member of Guardian Angels Parish her entire life, Helen’s fervent Catholic faith was a constant comfort to her through the years.

The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff at Champlain Manor and Mariposa House Hospice.  Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Helen’s private caregivers, especially to Delena Chevrier and Holly Martin, for their kind and compassionate care over the past three years.  We will all miss our dear Aunt Helen.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at a later date at Guardian Angels Catholic Church with arrangements entrusted to Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia.  If desired, charitable donations in memory of Helen may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Guardian Angels Catholic Church
or the Ontario Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Orillia Branch https://ontariospca.ca/orillia/
